HOW THE CTICC’S CULINARY TEAM TOOK TOP HONOURS

After a remarkable 21-year journey as Africa’s Big 7, one of the continent’s most established food and beverage sourcing exhibitions entered a new era in 2025, with a rebrand to the Africa Food Show and a new home at the CTICC.

The 2025 event at the CTICC provided a platform for innovation, networking and business growth across the sector, welcoming nearly 350 exhibitors and more than 9 000 food and beverage professionals.

Following this successful Cape Town debut, the Africa Food Show returned to the CTICC in 2026 for a bigger and better show, bringing together food and beverage professionals, buyers, suppliers and industry leaders from across Africa and beyond.

The 2026 edition further strengthened Cape Town's position as a hub for food innovation, trade and industry collaboration. Beyond the exhibition floor, the event’s culinary competition programme showcased the creativity, skill and innovation shaping the food and beverage industry.

Getting There

Building on the experience gained during the previous year, the CTICC’s culinary team delivered an outstanding performance in 2026. Competing in the Game of Chefs Competition, the Centre secured the Overall Winner title, as well as 1st Place in the National Burger Challenge and 3rd Place in the Global Pizza Challenge.

These achievements reflect the expertise, innovation and passion that underpin the CTICC's food and beverage offering. Whether catering for international conferences, exhibitions, gala dinners or banquets, the same attention to quality and detail is brought to every event.

For clients, exceptional catering is more than a supporting service. It is an important part of the delegate experience. Reflecting on the partnership, Margaret Peters, Event Manager of the Africa Food Show, said:

“It met all our strategic objectives and it is by far the best venue in the Cape. We aim to book at the CTICC for many more years to come.”
